Gedak finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gedak lost 5-3 to Zou, then responded with a 9-2 win over Daniel Selke (Regina, SK). Gedak won 7-2 against David Kraichy (Winnipeg, MB). Gedak went on to lose 7-2 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Gedak responded with a 7-2 win over Kraichy in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic, Gedak take home 4.550 world rankings points along with the $3,700CDN prize, moving up 26 spots the World Ranking Standings into 83rd place overall with 12.200 total points. Gedak ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.550 points earned so far this season.
