Carey finished 4-0 in the 48-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK) 7-6, then won 5-3 against Homan and 6-3 against Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK). Carey won 5-1 against Jaeggi in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Colonial Square Ladies Classic, Carey take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 172.700 total points.
