Eddie MacKenzie (Charlottetown, PEI) finished 2-3 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacKenzie defeated Bowie Abbis-Mills (Aylmer, ON) 6-4, then went on to lose 9-5 against Bryan Cochrane (Ottawa, ON). MacKenzie lost 8-6 to Michael Fournier (Montreal, PQ) where MacKenzie responded with a 4-2 win over Philippe Lemay (Trois-Rivieres, PQ). MacKenzie went on to lose 6-0 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
