Egger responded with a 7-5 win over Alberta's Robert Schlender. Egger won 6-5 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Egger went on to lose 7-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Egger earned 5.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 110 spots the World Ranking Standings into 139th place overall with 6.416 total points. Egger ranks 75th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.000 points earned so far this season.
