In their opening game, Brewster lost 8-2 to Tom Appelman (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 6-5 win over Saskatchewan's Scott Bitz. Brewster went on to lose 6-5 against Thomas Ulsrud (oslo, NOR). Brewster lost 6-5 to Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
