Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) qualified for the 2012 Cactus Pheasant Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-1 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). of the 2012 Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alberta;

Stoughton finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stoughton defeated David Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) 6-1, then won 8-2 against Thomas Ulsrud (oslo, NOR). Stoughton went on to lose 6-5 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). Stoughton responded with a 9-6 win over British Columbia's Brent Pierce in their final qualifying round match.

Stoughton earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cactus Pheasant Classic, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 6th place overall with 229.437 total points. Stoughton ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 108.350 points earned so far this season.
