Stoughton finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stoughton lost 5-4 to Howard, then responded with a 9-5 win over Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB). Stoughton won 6-5 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Stoughton went on to lose 8-4 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). Stoughton responded with a 8-4 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Beausejour, MB). Stoughton won 7-6 against Wayne Middaugh (Islington, ON), then won 8-7 against Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
