Alexander Baumann (Schwenningen, SUI) qualified for the 2012 German Masters playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-2 against Tyler George (Duluth, USA). of the 2012 German Masters in Hamburg, Germany;

Baumann finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Baumann lost 6-4 to George, then responded with a 9-4 win over Austria's Andreas Unterberger. Baumann won 8-4 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
