Sormunen won 6-4 against Maureen Stolt (St. Paul, MN). Sormunen went on to lose 7-4 against Alexandra Carlson (Wayzata, MN). Sormunen responded with a 8-4 win over Cassie Potter (St. Paul, MN). Sormunen won 8-5 against Kimberly Wapola (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sormunen earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the US Curling Nationals, moving up 32 spots the World Ranking Standings into 80th place overall with 15.750 total points. Sormunen ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.250 points earned so far this season.
