Kai Tsuchiya (Nagano, JPN) finished 3-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tsuchiya lost 12-1 to Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN), then responded with a 9-1 win over Satsuki Fujisawa (nagano, JPN). Tsuchiya won 6-1 against Denmark's Madeleine Dupont. Tsuchiya went on to lose 7-4 against Laura Crocker (Waterloo, ON). Tsuchiya lost 5-3 to Switzerland's Silvana Tirinzoni where Tsuchiya responded with a 7-4 win over Shinobu Aota (Aomori, JPN). Tsuchiya went on to lose 9-3 against Korea's Ji-Sun Kim in their final qualifying round match.

Tsuchiya earned 2.250 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 54 spots the World Ranking Standings into 162nd place overall with 3.250 total points. Tsuchiya ranks 124th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.250 points earned so far this season.
