To advance to the championship game, McGuire won 4-3 over Sylvie Robichaud (Moncton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2012 New Brunswick Scotties in Oromocto, New Brunswick;
 
McGuire finished 4-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McGuire lost 9-5 to Jessica Ronalds (Moncton, NB), then responded with a 9-4 win over Marin McLeod (Fredericton, NB). McGuire went on to lose 12-5 against Melissa Adams (Fredericton, NB). McGuire responded with a 7-5 win over Kathleen Trites (Sackville, NB). McGuire went on to lose 7-4 against Robichaud. McGuire responded with a 7-3 win over Sandy Comeau (Moncton, NB). McGuire won 6-5 against Kelly in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the New Brunswick Scotties, McGuire take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 60 spots the World Ranking Standings into 144th place overall with 4.153 total points. McGuire ranks 115th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.750 points earned so far this season.
