Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) lost 8-6 to Tracy Horgan (Sudbury, ON) in the Final of the Ontario Scotties, held January 23 - 29, 2012 in Kenora, Ontario.

Homan finished 9-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, ON) 7-4, then won 11-7 against Kathy Brown (Schomberg, ON) and 7-6 against Marlo Dahl (Thunder Bay, ON). Homan won 7-1 against Allison Nimik (St. Thomas, ON), then won 9-3 against Horgan and 7-6 against Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON). Homan won 7-5 against Cathy Auld (Mississauga, ON), then won 5-3 against Jenn Hanna (Ottawa, ON) and 6-4 against Laura Pickering (North Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Ontario Scotties, Homan take home 8.650 world rankings points, remaining in 10th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 159.880 total points. Homan ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 42.750 points earned so far this season.
