Marla Mallett (New Westminster, BC) lost 6-5 to Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the BC Scotties, held January 23 - 29, 2012 in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
 
Mallett finished 6-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mallett defeated Kelley Law (New Westminster, BC) 9-8, then won 6-3 against Nicole Backe (Vancouver, BC). Mallett went on to lose 8-6 against Allison MacInnes (Kamloops, BC). Mallett lost 7-6 to Scott. Mallett lost 12-8 to Marilou Richter (Richmond, BC) where Mallett responded with a 8-6 win over Roselyn Craig (Duncan, BC). Mallett won 6-5 against Brenda Garvey (Prince George, BC), then won 10-2 against Jen Rusnell (Prince George, BC) and 7-4 against Kelly Thompson (Richmond, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the BC Scotties, Mallett take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 23 spots the World Ranking Standings into 118th place overall with 6.702 total points. Mallett ranks 95th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.500 points earned so far this season.
