Owen Sampson (Edmore, ND) finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sampson defeated Mark Haluptzok (Bemidji, MN) 12-8, then went on to lose 9-4 against Todd Birr (Mankato, MN). Sampson responded with a 10-3 win over Bill Morehouse (Utica, NY). Sampson won 10-5 against Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN), then won 4-3 against Jason Smith (Fort Myers, FL) and 6-3 against Ryan Berg (West Fargo, ND). Sampson won 8-6 against Birr in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the USA Midwest North Regional Qualifier, Sampson take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 336 spots the World Ranking Standings into 256th place overall with 2.500 total points. Sampson ranks 183rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.500 points earned so far this season.
