Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) won 4-2 over Randy Bryden (Regina, SK) in the Final of the Whites Drug Store Classic, held November 9 - 12, 2012 at the Swan River Curling Club in Swan River, Canada. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 5-2 over Jim Cotter (Kelowna/Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2012 Whites Drug Store Classic in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada; and won 8-0 over Jeff Stoughton (winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Whites Drug Store Classic in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada;

McEwen finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Josh Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) 6-3, then won 7-3 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) and 7-2 against Stoughton in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Whites Drug Store Classic Championship title, McEwen earned 24.300 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 322.110 total points. McEwen ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 84.300 points earned so far this season.
