Chelsea Carey (Morden, MB) won 5-3 over Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Victoria Curling Classic Invitational, held March 29 - April 1, 2012 in Victoria, British Columbia. To advance to the championship game, Carey won 8-5 over Kaitlyn Lawes (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals

Carey finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Marilou Richter (Vancouver, BC) 6-0, then went on to lose 8-0 against Kleibrink. Carey responded with a 7-3 win over Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Victoria Curling Classic Invitational Championship title, Carey earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 33 of the event schedule, Carey did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 4th place on the World Ranking Standings with 242.945 total points. Carey ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 93.675 points earned so far this season.
