In their opening game, Edie defeated Ken Sambor (Bismarck, ND) 8-6, then went on to lose 9-2 against Ken Neidhart (Lodi, WI). Edie responded with a 8-7 win over Leland Rich (Fairbanks, AK). Edie won 8-3 against Steve Sirianni (Wausau, WI). Edie went on to lose 7-0 against Craig Disher (Rolla, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
