Bryan Miki (New Westminster, BC) won 10-2 over Jamie King (Edmonton/Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Vancouver Island Shootout, held November 11 - 13, 2011 at the Juan de Fuca Curling Club in Victoria, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Miki won 5-4 over Andrew Bilesky (New Westminster , BC) in the semifinals of the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-3 over Jason Montgomery (Duncan, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Miki finished 4-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Miki lost 9-6 to Daniel Wenzek (Victoria, BC), then responded with a 6-3 win over Jay Tuson (Victoria, BC). Miki won 7-2 against Jay Wakefield (New Westminster, BC). Miki went on to lose 6-3 against Montgomery. Miki responded with a 9-7 win over Tuson. Miki won 7-4 against Jody Epp (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Vancouver Island Shootout Championship title, Miki earned 4.000 world rankings points along with the $3,300CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 79th place overall with 20.837 total points. Miki ranks 90th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.225 points earned so far this season.
