King finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King defeated Jason Clarke (Victoria, BC) 7-3, then won 7-2 against Jay Wakefield (New Westminster, BC). King went on to lose 7-5 against Michel. King responded with a 8-5 win over Jody Epp (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Vancouver Island Shootout, King take home 2.800 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 41st place overall with 44.618 total points.
