Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) run at the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Jamie King (Edmonton/Calgary, AB).  of the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada;   
 
Michel finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Michel defeated Sebastien Robillard (Vancouver, BC) 7-0, then won 6-1 against Wes Craig (Victoria, BC) and 7-5 against King in their final qualifying round match.
 
Michel earned 2.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Vancouver Island Shootout, remaining in 35th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 55.808 total points. Michel ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.635 points earned so far this season.
