Gail Munro (Stranraer, SCO) finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Munro lost 6-3 to Kerry Barr (Perth, SCO), droppimg another game, 7-4 to Liudmila Privivkova (Moscow, RUS) where Munro responded with a 10-4 win over Germany's Juliane Jacoby. Munro won 6-3 against Norway's Linn Githmark, then won 7-6 against Switzerland's Michele Jaggi in their final qualifying round match.
 
Munro earned 1.325 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 23 of the event schedule, Munro did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Munro ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
