Matt Rudig (Madison, WI) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rudig lost 9-1 to Jason Smith (Ft. Myers, FL), droppimg another game, 12-3 to Mark Haluptzok (Duluth, MN) where Rudig responded with a 5-4 win over Minnesota's Mike Farbelow. Rudig went on to lose 6-2 against Ontario's Joe Scharf in their final qualifying round match.
