Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB) lost 6-2 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Cactus Pheasant Classic, held October 27 - 30, 2011 in Brooks, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Ferbey won 9-4 over Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2011 Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alberta; and won 5-4 over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alberta;
 
Ferbey finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ferbey defeated Dean Ross (Calgary, AB) 5-1, then won 8-4 against Alberta's Tom Appelman. Ferbey went on to lose 6-2 against Martin. Ferbey responded with a 6-5 win over Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Cactus Pheasant Classic, Ferbey take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN prize, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 126.251 total points. Ferbey ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 76.330 points earned so far this season.
