Steve Petryk (Calgary, YK) qualified for the 2011 Cactus Pheasant Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-3 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB).

Petryk finished 5-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Petryk lost 6-5 to Alberta's Jamie King, then responded with a 7-5 win over Korea's Chang-Min Kim. Petryk won 7-6 against Alberta's Tom Appelman, then won 6-0 against Jon Rennie (Calgary, AB). Petryk went on to lose 7-2 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). Petryk responded with a 7-2 win over Scott Egger (Brooks, AB). Petryk won 7-6 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Petryk earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cactus Pheasant Classic, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 23rd place overall with 80.619 total points. Petryk ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.579 points earned so far this season.
