Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pierce defeated Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB) 8-3, then went on to lose 4-3 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). Pierce lost 6-1 to Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK). Pierce lost 7-4 to Claudio Pescia (St. Gallen, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
