Erika Brown (Madison, WI) lost 8-3 to Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON) in the Final of the Sun Life Classic, held November 18 - 21, 2011 in Brantford, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Brown won 6-5 over Heather Smith-Dacey (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2011 Sun Life Classic in Brantford, Ontario; and won 8-2 over Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Brown finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown lost 9-8 to Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, ON), then responded with a 8-1 win over Julie Reddick (Toronto, ON). Brown won 5-3 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB), then won 7-5 against Kirsten Wall (Toronto, ON) and 9-1 against Heather Strong (St. John's, NL). Brown went on to lose 6-5 against McCarville. Brown responded with a 7-1 win over Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Sun Life Classic, Brown take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN prize, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 44.713 total points. Brown ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 25.000 points earned so far this season.
