Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) won 7-2 over Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in the Final of the Sun Life Classic, held November 18 - 21, 2011 in Brantford, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 5-3 over Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) in the semifinals of the 2011 Sun Life Classic in Brantford, Ontario; and won 5-3 over Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 Sun Life Classic in Brantford, Ontario;
 
Edin finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Greg Richardson (Ottawa, ON) 6-1, then went on to lose 6-1 against Michel. Edin responded with a 8-1 win over David Hamblin (Morris, MB). Edin went on to lose 6-3 against Howard. Edin responded with a 8-6 win over Braeden Moskowy (Regina, SK). Edin won 5-3 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB), then won 6-5 against Switzerland's Peter De Cruz in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Sun Life Classic Championship title, Edin earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 6th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 235.057 total points. Edin ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 97.417 points earned so far this season.
