CHAMPION: Holland Wins 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts

Amber Holland (Kronau, SK) won 8-7 over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, CAN) in the Final of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, held February 19 - 27, 2011 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
 
Holland finished 9-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Holland defeated Cathy Overton-Clapham (Winnipeg, MB) 8-6, then won 9-3 against Jones and 10-6 against Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI). Holland won 7-6 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB), then won 7-6 against Marie-France Larouche (Levis, PQ) and 8-5 against Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON). Holland won 9-7 against Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, Y/NWT), then won 10-2 against Stacie Devereaux (St. John's, NL). Holland went on to lose 7-4 against Heather Smith-Dacey (Halifax, NS). Holland responded with a 7-6 win over Andrea Kelly (Oromocto, NB). Holland went on to lose 8-5 against Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Championship title, Holland earned 45.000 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 302.000 total points. Holland ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 147.920 points earned so far this season.
