Wayne Saboe (Kamloops, BC) finished 2-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Saboe defeated Tyrel Griffith (Vernon, BC) 6-4, then went on to lose 6-4 against Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC). Saboe lost 6-3 to Bryan Miki (New Westminster, BC) where Saboe responded with a 9-8 win over British Columbia's Ron Leech. Saboe went on to lose 9-4 against Miki in their final qualifying round match.
