McAulay finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McAulay lost 8-5 to Mike Smith (Kamloops, BC), then responded with a 11-7 win over Tobin Senum (Vernon, BC). McAulay won 7-3 against Stan Boone (Kamloops, BC), then won 6-4 against Dave Merklinger (Vernon, BC) and 6-1 against Bryan Miki (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McAulay earned 5.240 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Labatt Crown of Curling.
