Petryk finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Petryk lost 5-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-2 win over Xiaoming Xu (Harbin, CHN). Petryk won 8-6 against Dean Ross (Calgary, AB), then won 5-3 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) and 6-3 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Petryk earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cactus Pheasant Classic.
