Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) qualified for the 2010 Cactus Pheasant Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-2 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). of the 2010 Cactus Pheasant Classic in Brooks, Alberta;

Petryk finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Petryk lost 5-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-2 win over Xiaoming Xu (Harbin, CHN). Petryk won 8-6 against Dean Ross (Calgary, AB), then won 5-3 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) and 6-3 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Petryk earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cactus Pheasant Classic. For week 8 of the event schedule, Petryk did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 194th to 195th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 4.950 total points. Petryk ranks 98th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.950 points earned so far this season.
