Dean Ross (Calgary, AB) won 8-6 over Don Walchuk (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the World Financial Group Classic, held September 24 - 27, 2010 at the Garrison Curling Club in Calgary, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Ross won 8-5 over Xiao Ming Xu (Harbin, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2010 World Financial Group Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-4 over Lloyd Hill (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2010 World Financial Group Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada;
 
Ross finished 2-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ross lost 5-2 to Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 5-4 win over Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB). Ross went on to lose 6-3 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK). Ross responded with a 6-2 win over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Financial Group Classic Championship title, Ross earned 13.200 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 3 of the event schedule, Ross did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ross ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
