Neil Sinclair (Manotick, ON) lost 7-3 to Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, PQ) in the Final of the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy, held October 22 - 25, 2009 at the Buckingham Curling Club in Buckingham, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Sinclair won 7-2 over Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2009 Challenge Casino Lac Leamy in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada; and won 7-6 over Ted Butler (Gatineau, PQ) in the quarterfinals.
Sinclair finished 4-0 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sinclair defeated Greg Richardson (Ottawa, ON) 4-3, then won 4-3 against Russ Howard (Moncton, NB) and 5-3 against Butler. Sinclair won 5-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy, Sinclair take home 15.950 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Sinclair did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sinclair ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
