Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, PQ) won 7-3 over Neil Sinclair (Manotick, ON) in the Final of the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy, held October 22 - 25, 2009 at the Buckingham Curling Club in Buckingham, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Menard won 8-3 over Martin Ferland (Quebec, PQ) in the semifinals of the 2009 Challenge Casino Lac Leamy in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada; and won 7-4 over Serge Reid (Saguenay, PQ) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 Challenge Casino Lac Leamy in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada;
 
Menard finished 4-1 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Menard defeated Michael Fournier (Montreal, PQ) 9-2, then went on to lose 6-3 against Ferland. Menard responded with a 7-5 win over Steve Lodge (Brockville, ON). Menard won 8-5 against Cory Heggestad (Barrie, ON), then won 10-2 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy Championship title, Menard earned 25.520 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Menard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Menard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
