McAulay finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McAulay defeated Steve Waatainen (Nanaimo, BC) 5-3, then won 8-1 against Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB) and 5-4 against Bryan Miki (New Westminster, BC). McAulay went on to lose 6-3 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB). McAulay responded with a 6-5 win over Bawel in their final qualifying round match.

McAulay earned 7.440 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Kamloops Crown of Curling.
