Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC) won 5-2 over Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the September Shoot-Out, held September 17 - 20, 2009 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Ursel won 5-3 over Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) in the semifinals of the 2009 September Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 7-3 over Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 September Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta;
 
Ursel finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ursel defeated Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) 8-1, then went on to lose 5-4 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Ursel responded with a 8-2 win over Matt Yeo (Edmonton, AB). Ursel won 5-2 against Wade White (Edmonton, AB), then won 8-3 against Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the September Shoot-Out Championship title, Ursel earned 26.800 world rankings points along with the $4,500CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Ursel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ursel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
