Simmons finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Simmons defeated Rob Krepps (Edmonton, AB) 6-5, then won 6-2 against Matt Yeo (Edmonton, AB) and 6-2 against Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB). Simmons won 8-2 against Mike Jantzen (Calgary, AB). Simmons went on to lose 6-3 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
Simmons earned 13.400 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the September Shoot-Out. For week of the event schedule, Simmons did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Simmons ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
