In their opening game, Dieno lost 5-3 to David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-3 win over Greg Todoruk (Dauphin, MB). Dieno went on to lose 7-6 against Dave Boehmer (Petersfield, MB). Dieno responded with a 6-5 win over Saskatchewan's Shawn Joyce. Dieno went on to lose 7-4 against Terry McNamee (Neepawa, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Dieno earned 1.790 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Dieno did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Dieno ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
