Neeleman finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Neeleman lost 6-2 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR), then responded with a 9-1 win over Switzerland's Sven Iten. Neeleman won 8-7 against Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO), then won 9-1 against David Sik (Praha, CZE) and 5-3 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO). Neeleman went on to lose 7-1 against Ulsrud. Neeleman responded with a 7-6 win over Switzerland's Kevin Froidevaux in their final qualifying round match.
 
Neeleman earned 10.280 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Bern Open.
