Amber Holland (Kronau, SK) won 6-3 over Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the Bank of America Schmirler Curling Classic, held September 25 - 28, 2009 at the Caledonian Curling Club in Regina, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Holland won 5-3 over Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2009 Bank of America Schmirler Curling Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 5-3 over Janet Harvey (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.
Holland finished 5-0 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Holland defeated Japan's Moe Meguro 7-4, then won 9-2 against Saskatchewan's Cathy Inglis and 6-2 against Barb Spencer (Winnipeg, MB). Holland won 7-5 against Scott, then won 9-5 against Jenna Loder (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Bank of America Schmirler Curling Classic Championship title, Holland earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Holland did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Holland ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
