Middaugh responded with a 7-4 win over Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB). Middaugh won 5-3 against Markus Eggler (Basel, SUI). Middaugh went on to lose 8-5 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Beausejour, MB). Middaugh lost 7-2 to Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
