Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) run at the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-1 loss to Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC). of the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada; Martin advanced through the quarterfinals with a 8-1 win over Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK). of the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Martin finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated British Columbia's Bryan Kedziora 9-4, then won 9-2 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB). Martin went on to lose 6-5 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Martin responded with a 11-2 win over Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB). Martin went on to lose 8-4 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Martin responded with a 9-7 win over Terry Meek (Calgary, AB). Martin won 8-3 against Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Martin earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Westcoast Curling Classic.
