Wes Craig (Victoria, BC) finished 1-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Craig lost 4-2 to Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC), droppimg another game, 7-5 to British Columbia's Jay Peachey where Craig responded with a 6-3 win over British Columbia's Brian Gessner. Craig went on to lose 6-4 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
