Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) won 8-5 over Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Canada Cup of Curling, held March 18 - 22, 2009 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
 
Martin finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated Russ Howard (Moncton, NB) 8-6, then won 9-7 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) and 8-7 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Martin won 7-6 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Martin went on to lose 7-5 against Wayne Middaugh (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canada Cup of Curling Championship title, Martin earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $25,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Martin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Martin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
