In their opening game, Alberta's Kevin Martin defeated New Brunswick's Russ Howard 7-4, then won 7-5 against Quebec's Jean-Michel Menard and 11-3 against Saskatchewan's Joel Jordison. Alberta's Kevin Martin won 8-4 against Yukon/N.W.T.'s Jamie Koe, then won 6-4 against Newfoundland / Labrador's Brad Gushue and 8-2 against British Columbia's Sean Geall.
