Ursel went on to lose 7-5 against Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB). Ursel responded with a 6-4 win over Japan's Yusuke Morozumi. Ursel won 7-4 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Ursel went on to lose 7-0 against Ferbey. Ursel responded with a 6-3 win over Dan Petryk (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ursel earned 14.250 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Westcoast Curling Classic.
