Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated Mark Johnson (Seattle, USA) 6-4, then won 8-2 against Greg Monkman (New Westminster, BC) and 8-5 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Martin went on to lose 7-4 against Darren Moulding (Calgary, AB). Martin responded with a 7-4 win over Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB). Martin won 5-3 against Koe in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Westcoast Curling Classic Championship title, Martin earned 33.250 world rankings points along with the $16,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Martin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Martin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
