Goring3-3 at 2008 Sobeys Slam

Alison Goring (Thornhill, ON) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Goring defeated Marie-France Larouche (Quebec, PQ) 7-4, then won 7-4 against Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC). Goring went on to lose 6-3 against Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK). Goring lost 7-3 to Julie Reddick (Brantford, ON) where Goring responded with a 7-4 win over Eve Belisle (Montreal, PQ). Goring went on to lose 8-3 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Goring earned 3.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Goring did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Goring ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
