Marie-France Larouche (Quebec, PQ) finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Larouche lost
7-4 to Alison Goring (Thornhill, ON), then responded with a 7-5 win over Aileen Sormunen (Duluth, MN). Larouche won 5-3 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB). Larouche went on to lose 8-3 against Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI). Larouche responded with a 8-5 win over Amber Holland (Kronau, SK). Larouche won 7-3 against Patti Lank (Niagara Falls, NY), then won 5-4 against Heather Strong (St. John, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Sobeys Slam Championship title, Larouche earned 36.000 world rankings points along with the $16,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Larouche did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Larouche ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
