Heather Rankin (Calgary, AB) finished 2-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rankin defeated Corrie Lubben (Richmond, BC) 8-7, then went on to lose 8-5 against Crystal Webster (Grande Prairie, AB). Rankin lost 6-3 to Michelle Englot (Regina, SK) where Rankin responded with a 9-6 win over Diane Foster (Calgary, AB). Rankin went on to lose 4-3 against Marla Mallett (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
